ABOUT US

Minimbah Fishing Lodge logo

It is thought the word Minimbah may originate from the local indigenous dialect meaning "where the rivers meet " - and that's where you'll find us; at the junction of 3 beautiful rivers: Wang Wauk River, Coolongolook River and Wallingat River.

The lodge is part of a 300-acre working cattle farm on the shores of the Coolongolook River. Providing unique mid north coast accommodation options, Minimbah Fishing Lodge enjoys 1.5kms of waterfront access. Guests can easily access countless great fishing spots via any of the three local river systems directly from the lodge's private boat ramp and jetty. Fishos and water skiers can find sheltered water close by for an enjoyable day on the water.

Just 15 minutes south of Mid Coast’s Nabiac (NSW), we are located on the western side of Wallis Lake, a short boat ride to the popular beachside towns of Forster and Tuncurry . There you can swim, shop and dine and then return to your lodge accommodation via the pristine waterways.

Alternatively, cruise by boat down to Pacific Palms Rec Club. Be sure to call into the Coomba Park Aquatic Club on your way past. Both clubs have substantial waterfront jetties and welcome Members and Guests.

Fishing charters and Lake and River Cruises are available to lodge guests and depart directly from the lodge’s private jetty. Bookings are essential well in advance as they are extremely popular activities.

If you are not into boating, you can simply throw a line in off the riverbank or the jetty. Local fish species are Flathead, Bream, Tailor, Garfish and Mullet. Jewfish are also caught but the boating anglers have a better chance out in the deeper water.

Mud Crabs and Blue Swimmer Crabs are in abundance in the warmer months from September through to March. Crabs can be caught from the riverbank and traps can be hired from the lodge.

Accommodation options include our lodge rooms or beautiful riverside camping spots.
